new house is being built around an ancient farm track, faint traces of which were still visible in the landscape and which will be reinstated as the new house is built.  situated on the side of an east facing slope the house steps down the hill to benefit from solar gain from the south whilst creating terraces to face beautiful long views to the east.

Internally we have explored the clients interest in using unsold books as a building material. Each year hundreds hundreds of tonnes of recently published books are pulped sometimes before they have even made the booksellers shelves. A disappointment to their authors but saved from the shredder these books will form new linings to the lower blocks. Pages out their textured surface will absorb sound, and regulate the moisture content of the air.
