In the heart of ludlow there is a garden hidden from the street by a high stone wall and surrounded by the adhoc accumulation of houses, barns and sheds that typically characterise a medieval market town in the welsh marches. when the quakers of ludlow purchased this garden in 2016 it unlocked the potential of their building, on the eastern boundary to address this special place and they have now embarked on a 2 phase project to create a new meeting house.
Phase 1 is to transform a two storey lean-to that abuts the existing meeting house from a small workshop into an annexe providing supporting facilities including a small library and children's room. this work has now been completed. Phase 2 will be to enlarge the existing meeting house to provide a new meeting room that enables a meeting for worship in the round, a welcoming new entrance with views and access into the garden.
